We all progress through our Taekwondo journey at our own pace, but if you train regularly and you want to progress through the belts, then you will be invited to grade.
Colour Belt gradings occur quarterly each year and take place in Great Parringdon Sports Club in Harlow, Essex. The gradings are presided over by TAGB Treasurer and 9th Dan Grand Master Ron Sergiew, along with a panel of Black Belt Instructors (including yours truly!)
These can be nerve-racking and sometimes daunting, but if you have trained regularly and know your stuff then you should have no problems. It is my job as an Instructor to ensure you are ready to grade and the percentage of students passing is usually very high.
Tae Kwon-Do teaches respect and has a strong sense of moral codes. This is what is so appealing about the sport in a time when respect for others, respect for authority and a general moral compass are mostly lacking in society. Young children thrive in such an environment
Rules of the Dojang
THE INSTRUCTOR HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE INSTRUCTION TO ANY INDIVIDUAL AT HIS/HER DISCRETION.
The Tenets of Tae Kwon-Do
Tae Kwon-Do’s moral values are similar to the values stressed throughout society as a whole. There are five basic tenets that have been adopted from Korea’s ancient warrior societies.
